Frank McKinney started at 6:00 am TODAY, the toughest footrace in the world, the Badwater 135-mile Ultramarathon, (www.badwater.com).

He reached the first checkpoint strong and ahead of schedule finishing 17 miles in 3 hours and 39 minutes.

He is on his way to the second check point of Stovepipe Wells which is at mile 42. You can follow Frank’s progress at race webcast: http://www.badwater.com/2010web/index.php.
