30 October 2010You know I am one for positive news, sharing empowering ideas for you and your life. At the same time, I am sure you have heard via the national news, that thousands are dying from cholera in Haiti.
This breaks my heart, as it seems one disaster after another afflicts this desperately poor, but hopeful nation. Again, we are challenged with the choice-then-action mantra;compassion without action is a waste of emotion…
Cholera is a deadly disease of the small intestine primarily caused by ingesting unsanitary drinking water or food.
In the case of Haiti, we have heard that many living in the tent cities are not getting enough clean drinking water, thus the disease is spreading. Even when this current outbreak is contained, the risk of future epidemics is great.

We have secured access to hundreds of biological water filters (2.5′ tall/1.5′ around – think office water cooler) that operate via gravity, without the need for electricity. These units produce nearly 100 gallons of clean drinking water a day, removing 99.8% of all parasites.
